Yearly average temperature is 79 degrees; annual rainfall averages 55 inches - & to compensate for the heat there is a constant northeast trade winds keep the islands cool.
St. Kitts is in the Eastern Caribbean, south of St. Martin, west of Antigua, and north of Nevis. The island is 23 miles long with an area of 68 square miles, and a population of only 35,000.
A mountain
range, including the dormant volcano Mt. Liamuiga, covers the central part of the island. Dense, tropical rain forests near the summit contrast with cultivated, fertile valleys below.
Just a two mile ferry ride away, Nevis offers the real Caribbean where exploring is limited, so total relaxation is the order of the day.
