Tourists have forever held a love affair with Spain, and it's easy to see why with
a great climate, relaxing siestas, and fantastic hotels & facilities. Now it is possible to choose one of the many fantastic locations for a beautiful wedding in Spain.
Don't forget all those festivals, carnivals and processions which will only add to your celebrations.
Despite a reputation as being a 24 hour party destination, away from the developed Mediterranean coastal resorts you can
still find a land of magical white villages and ancient castles. Much of the countryside is beautiful and untouched with a rugged grandeur.
There are also the vibrant cities such as Seville, Barcelona and Madrid.
Popular locations for weddings in Spain include the cities, the Mediterranean coast, Majorca, Ibiza, Tenerife and the other Canary Islands.
Spain now recognizes Roman Catholic, Protestant, Islamic & Jewish weddings without the need for a Civil ceremony beforehand.
All wedding ceremonies in Spain must be performed in Spanish. There are however specialist wedding translators to aid in this process - making it much easier to get married in Spain.
It must be noted for religious weddings in Spain, that churches get booked up very early for the summer months in popular resort and holiday locations. It is therefore wise to plan a Spain wedding as early as possible.
Legally it is relatively simple to marry in Spain. Weddings in Spain are legal for couples from the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Europe & most other countries.
However please note that before a wedding can take place in most places in Spain, a notice of intent to marry should be displayed on the consular notice board for 21 days and parties must be resident in this consular district for 21 days.
For this reason many couples choose to have a civil wedding ceremony back home and then have a marriage blessing in Spain.
